About Us

Hideout Distro {diss-tro, short for distribution} is a creative studio and local goods store hosting a collection of unique gift ideas, home goods, home decor, bath and body products, books, art prints and more!
.
Hideout was established in April of 2016 starting out in a small lower level bay in the Mercer Building downtown Edmonton but has since relocated to a brick and mortar storefront tucked in the 124th Street District.
Straddling the quaint-but-central Westmount and Oliver neighbourhoods, our bright and cheerful dog-friendly space is a stone’s throw away from the seasonal 124 Street Grand Market, murals, and a slew of awesome independent cafes, restaurants, and shops.  Grab a coffee, bring your pooch, come browse and don’t be shy to stay a while - take a seat on our big vintage couch to enjoy the tunes and flip through some of our good reads.

Hideout owner and founder Tory Culen is a community-minded Edmontonian creative who lives for honest expression and curiosity. Tory rarely finds herself bored, as she creates a range of goods in house - from luxury candles, bath soaks, perfumes, ceramics, jewelry, hand dyed textiles and many other things. You’ll likely see her in action in the shop if you visit.
Hideout Distro was born to give artists, brands and musicians in the community an opportunity to experiment with creative flow and share with the public in a retail setting.  The shop has since expanded to include curated vintage gems and over 200 local artists and established brands and designers, both in store locally and online to all of Canada. Come chill with us :)

Note: Please be patient with us if our hours change from time to time, Hideout operations are being managed by one person with occasional part time assistance.  Thank you!

We appreciate your continued support as we all move through this time responsibly. Come on by for a visit if you are symptom-free!

***Accessibility: Our shop space has a step down at our entry making accessibility limited - if we could change this we would, and we apologize for the limitation. If you’d like to arrange a time to shop virtually via a shop tour on zoom, just send us a message***
